UPMC CT Technologist, Advanced, Multi Skill - Casual - Wellsboro in Wellsboro, Pennsylvania

UPMC Wellsboro is seeking a Casual CT Technologist, Diagnostic Technologist, or Imaging Student to join their team! This position will work a minimum of one - eight-hour shift per pay period or one-weekend shift per month. Shifts may be days, evenings, or nights as scheduled. One holiday per year is required.

*Radiology Students on track to graduate in Fall 2024 will also be considered for this position.

The multi-skill position requires primary ARRT certification in Radiology and secondary ARRT certification in Computed Tomography. (ARRT (R) and (CT)), but we will consider candidates at all levels of the career ladder.

Final candidates will be selected for a job title within the career ladder that reflects level of education, experience, and manager discretion at the time of offer.

The Imaging professional p erforms imaging procedures at a technical level not requiring constant supervision. Competently performs various technical procedures that require independent judgment, ingenuity, and initiative to apply prescribed ionizing radiation for diagnostic purposes. Rotates between two specialties.

Responsibilities:

  • Participates in standardization activities with system-level workgroups.

  • Performs or assists Clinical Specialist in performing QA, regulatory testing, and other technical and research initiatives.

  • Assist with the training of staff and student technologists.

  • Performs all job responsibilities of CT Tech I.

  • Demonstrates a willingness to learn new skills and a willingness to educate others in their areas of expertise. Serves as a resource for new hires and students.

  • Maintains flexibility to work within different clinical areas to support the needs of the departments and/or business units to ensure that staffing is adequate to support services across the enterprise. Maintains assigned workflow patterns at site based on patient volumes and continually communicates with supervisors and/or managers.

  • Demonstrates competency in specialty equipment (i.e. 3D recon, cardiac scanning, etc.) and analyzes data promptly.

  • Monitors quality control activities and demonstrates an advanced level of knowledge in Diagnostic Imaging by providing patient care as defined by the most up-to-date protocols and procedures.

  • Works directly with Radiologists regarding protocol development.

  • Works as a team member within assigned departments to expedite patient care efficiently by demonstrating excellent communication and customer service skills. Effectively communicate with physicians, co-workers, managers, and patients in assigned sites and/or departments.

*We will consider all levels of the imaging career ladder and levels of experience including radiology students set to graduate in August 2024.

Requirements at the advanced multi-skill level:

  • Graduate of an ARRT-approved school of Radiologic Technology or completion of an accredited CNMT program.

  • 2 years of experience required in a primary specialty.

  • Must hold a registry in each specialty.

  • Must have obtained a performance review rating of strong/solid/good on the most recent performance review to be eligible for promotion.

Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:

ARRT certified as a CT Technologist with active certification in a second specialty.

Must maintain 2 imaging registries/certifications and maintain competency in both as required by the hiring Business Unit.

Must be willing and demonstrate flexibility to be assigned to any of the maintained registries by leadership.

CPR is required based on AHA standards that include both a didactic and skills demonstration component within 30 days of hire.

  • ARRT Certificate

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) OR Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
