UPMC Clinical Curriculum and Practice Specialist- Behavioral Health in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania
UPMC Corporate is hiring a Clinical Curriculum and Practice Specialist to join our team! This position will focus on Behavioral Health areas. The position will work Monday through Friday during standard business hours. The position will work remotely, but be required to come onsite as needed.
The Clinical Curriculum and Practice Specialist has the authority, responsibility, and accountability for delivery of clinical care curriculum throughout the UPMC system. In collaboration with the health care team, the Clinical Curriculum and Practice Specialist serves as an expert for clinical staff and other disciplines in area of specialty by maintaining partnerships within the system to develop clinical education curriculum and service line implementation.

Responsibilities:
Identifies research and evidence-based practice to support improvement in clinical care: identifies research issues or articles related to clinical specialty or areas of interest.
Maintains strong partnerships with Learning & Development and Human Resources teams to ensure excellent service delivery
Serves as a resource to clinical staff, faculty, students and other health care personnel in the acquisition of knowledge and skills related to patient care within specialty/population
Manages CEU tracking for assigned region/area of responsibility
Conveys information and ideas clearly through a variety of media to individuals or groups in a manner that engages the audience and helps them understand and retain the message. Role models professional communication and encourages free exchange of ideas that serves as a catalyst for transformation.
Develops policy and practices relative to patient care and specialty-related information.
Works collaboratively with medical team(s) to develop evidence-based care delivery models and protocols. Through service line/specialty population, monitor and evaluate length of stay, readmission, return to ICU and system processes and throughput to improve patient outcomes and satisfaction.
Analyzes and disseminates current medical and nursing literature for utilization in the expansion and improvement of patient care outcomes.
Facilitates/mentors staff for projects/EBP/research activities. Mentors MSN & DNP projects that align with system goals. Promotes best practice dissemination (presentations, publications, etc.) Participate in department-based Performance Improvement projects
Communicates and rounds with interdisciplinary team to establish professional rapport and support plan of care
Fiscal responsibility through vetting of supplies and equipment purchase requests to ensure alignment system-wide
Performs in accordance with system-wide competencies/behaviors.

MSN or Master's in related field required; Doctorate preferred
Three years of clinical experience; two years of relevant clinical specialty experience required
Licenses and Certifications
Registered Nurse or other clinical licensed professional
UPMC Approved Certification
