UPMC Union Deposit Internal Medicine Practice is looking to add a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to their practice. This is a 7-provider practice. We are a busy and growing practice. In this office, the LPN is an essential part of the clinical team. The LPN p rovides professional nursing care to office patients under supervision of patient care providers.
Office Hours: Monday and Tuesday 7am-7pm, Wednesdays 7am-4:45pm, Thursdays 7am-4:45pm, Fridays 7am-4:45pm (Your schedule will only be 40 hours/week). NO WEEKENDS. NO MAJOR HOLIDAYS. 7-paid holidays off including Martin Luther King Day.
Responsibilities:
Assess patient's general condition and take vital signs and weight.
Assist physicians with examinations, diagnostic procedures and treatments.
Answer patient phone calls, triage and schedule as needed.
Mentor and precept new employees.
Complete vaccine and medication injections.
Obtain urine specimens and complete urinalysis.
Draw blood.
Comply with requirements of appropriate regulatory agencies (i.e. OSHA, CLIA, PA Department of Health).
Administer medications including oral meds, Sub-Q, or IM
Comply with all policies and procedures.
Document all activities/interventions, patient/family responses, medication dispensed/prescribed, etc., in the medical record.
Maintain strict confidentiality related to medical records and other data.
Promote wellness by providing patient education materials, communicating physician advice/instructions.
Graduate of an approved LPN school of nursing.
One-year clinical experience preferred, but not required

CPR required based on AHA standards that include both a didactic and skills demonstration component within 30 days of hireClearances must be dated within 90 days
Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) OR Basic Life Support (BLS) OR Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
