UPMC Diagnostic Technologist, Advanced (4 10-hour shifts) - Butler, PA in Butler, Pennsylvania

UPMC is hiring a full-time Diagnostica Technologist - Advanced to join their Tri-River Orthopedic office in Butler, PA! Tri Rivers is a large orthopedic practice with multiple office locations. The practice is driven by a network of responsible individuals focused on providing excellent patient care, promoting teamwork, and upholding UPMC’s mission, vision, and values. The daily clinical duties include, but are not limited to, working in the office with our foot and ankle team along with other providers as scheduled, providing high quality, orthopedic-specific x-rays, and running the c-arm during fluoroscopy procedures. Additional duties include, but are not limited to, rooming patients, basic triage, suture/staple removal, splinting and casting, injection preparation, phone messages, ordering external imaging, therapy, and medications.

This position will work 4 10-hour shifts, Monday through Friday with one set day off per week. No weekends, holidays, or on-call required! This position will require travel to other offices in Slippery Rock and Cranberry office, as needed.

This position provides a sign-on bonus of $15,000 with a 2-year work commitment for techs with at least 1 year of experience.

Responsibilities:

  • Performs or assists Clinical Specialist in performing QA, regulatory testing, and other technical and research initiatives.

  • Performs all job responsibilities of Diagnostic Tech I.

  • Demonstrates competency of specialty equipment (O.R., Fluoro Procedures, etc.) and analyzes data promptly. Performs electrocardiograms and lab draw functions if applicable.

  • Monitors quality control activities and demonstrates advanced level of knowledge in Diagnostic Imaging by providing patient care as defined by the most up to day protocols and procedures.

  • Demonstrates the ability to function independently, and is able to cover off shifts, on-call responsibilities, and perform services at satellite facilities, where applicable, while continually communicating with lead and management team.

  • Participates in standardization activities with system-level workgroups.

  • Works directly with Radiologists regarding protocol development.

  • Assist with the training of staff and student technologists.

  • Graduate of an ARRT approved school of Radiologic Technology.

  • 2 years Diagnostic experience required.

Must have obtained a performance review rating of strong/solid/good on most recent performance review to be eligible for promotion.

Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:

ARRT certified in Radiography. CPR or BLS RequiredCPR required based on AHA standards that include both a didactic and skills demonstration component within 30 days of hire

  • ARRT Certificate

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) OR Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
